Pedestrian Struck on I-77, New Philadelphia Patrol Investigating
The State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal incident on I-77 south. The accident occurred near bolivar Sunday morning involving a pedestrian who was struck and killed. New Philadelphia post trooper Roy Beach says the victim, 34-year-old Jonathan Mandala of Akron, apparently walked onto the highway from the right side of the lanes and was hit by a flatbed truck just before 10 a.m.

Summit County Fair opens this week; kids under 15 get in free 1 day
TALLMADGE, Ohio – The Summit County Fair is scheduled for July 23-28 at the fairgrounds in Tallmadge, located at 229 E. Howe Road. A family tradition since 1850, the fair offers 4-H and open-class exhibits in livestock, horticulture, floraculture, domestic arts, culinary arts and fine arts. More than 250 food and commercial vendors will be spread out across the 66-acre fairgrounds, according to event organizers.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga residents who have not yet received a letter about changes in their property value should contact the county for a copy. The county has been mailing out the new appraisal letters over the last two weeks, showing home values increasing an average 32%. Steward cancels auction of three Valley hospitals citing no qualified bidders
The future of three Valley hospitals operated by Steward Health Care remains cloudy after their auctions were called off. Bath Township Fire Department provides update on mulch fire at Resource Recycling
ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - New details are coming out about yesterday's fire at Resource Recycling. The Bath Township Fire Department arrived at the large blaze at around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday. Materials on fire included mulch, cut trees, brush, large industrial crane mats, and pallets. Eighteen agencies from four different counties assisted. Containing the fire was made more difficult because there was not a fire hydrant nearby, and trucks had to travel back and forth to one around a third of a mile away from the scene.
