Body recovered from the Minnesota River in Shakopee

Authorities recovered a body from the Minnesota River in Shakopee on Tuesday, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says someone called 911 at 7:53 p.m. to report a body in river near the Lewis Street bridge.

Responders located what appeared to be the body of a man in the river a few feet from shore under the east side of the bridge.

In a news release, the agency said no foul play is suspected and the individual will be identified by the Hennepin County Medical Exmainer's Office, which will also determine an official cause of death.

The death remains under investigation.
