Police say Moorhead woman stabbed man in the neck

A Moorhead woman was arrested for attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed a man in his neck.

According to the Moorhead Police Department, officers responded to an apartment on the 1800 block of 20th Street South just before 11 p.m. Thursday on a report of a man suffering from a cut on his neck.

The victim, 43, lived in the apartment and had a female friend over, according to MPD. He stated that the suspect attacked him unprovoked and then left the apartment when he went to a neighbor for help.

Just before noon on Friday, police announced the arrest of a woman in connection to the stabbing, noting that the 36-year-old Moorhead woman is being held at the Clay County Jail on the following charges:

• Second-degree attempted murder
• First-degree assault causing great bodily harm
• Domestic assault inflicting great bodily harm

The victim was taken to Sanford Hospital, where he is recovering, according to police.
