    Red Bull Racing reveals details of its F1 car event in downtown Minneapolis

    Red Bull has shared all the details of its highly anticipated event that will see a Formula One car travel along the streets of downtown Minneapolis.

    Oracle Red Bull Racing is bringing retired F1 driver David Coulthard to the Twin Cities for a demonstration run on September 14 . This week it has revealed more information about the event and what visitors can expect.

    When is it?

    Coulthard will operate the Red Bull car along South 4th Street between 3rd Avenue and Park Avenue between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

    The Fan Zone will be at The Commons Park at South 4th Street and Portland Ave intersections. The Fan Zone will open at 12 p.m.

    What to expect

    Food trucks will be on both the north and south sides of South 4th Street, and the event will be free and open to the general public. Viewing is open to everyone, so Red Bull suggests people arrive early to secure a spot. Large video screens will be available at both ends of the track and at The Commons Park.

    Guests can take pictures with one of F1 cars at The Commons Park Fan Zone, where there will be other activities including free-to-use Pit Stop Challenge and Red Bull Racing Simulators, and a merchandise stall.

    While alcohol won't be sold on-site, you can visit Off the Rails or Bar Zia along South 4th Street.

    ADA viewing will be located at the SE corner of South 4th Street and 3rd Ave South. People with impairments and one additional guest can view from this area.

    What you can bring

    • Blankets
    • Small hand-held style umbrellas
    • Baby strollers
    • Portable/collapsible chair
    • Regular-size / unframed backpacks
    • Water bottles
    • Empty Camelbak or other empty plastic container
    • Binoculars and personal camera equipment

    Guests are encouraged to leave large bags at home as well as pets.

    How to get there

    Public transportation, walking, biking, and ride-share apps are the best ways to get to the event. However, parking ramps are available in the area. Visit here for more parking information.
