Boy, 17, dies after stabbing at apartment building in rural Minnesota

A 17-year-old boy has died after he being found stabbed in the chest in the hallway of an apartment building in rural southwestern Minnesota.

The Traverse County Sheriff's Office says it was called at 2:18 a.m. Friday to the Valley View Apartments in Browns Valley after Andre Kampeska, of Browns Valley, was found unresponsive in the hall.

Kampeska was taken to Coteau Des Prairies Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Another teenage boy was arrested at the scene and is being held at the West Central Regional Detention Center in Moorhead on pending charges of 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree manslaughter.

More details will be released in the event the boy is formally charged.
