Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of the murder George Floyd, has been moved once again to a new prison.

Chauvin, currently serving a 21-year sentence for Floyd's 2020 murder, was originally being held at a federal prison in Arizona. Last November, he was stabbed 22 times by a fellow inmate and former Mexican gang member, John Tursak, 53 , in the prison's law library.

It was reported that he was transferred to a holding facility in Oklahoma City on August 9, and has now been transferred to a federal prison in Big Spring, Texas . It has not been confirmed by authorities that the move is related to the attack last November.

The Texas facility is described as "a low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp."

Chauvin's mother, Carolyn Pawlenty, told the Star Tribune she was not informed of her son's latest prison move, after previously criticizing the Bureau of Prisons for not informing her after he was stabbed last year.
