The Minnesota State Fair opens Thursday and millions of cookies will be made and sold each day at the top-grossing food vendor, Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar.

Ahead of the fair’s grand opening, we’re taking a look back at the 2023 State Fair to rank the top ten food vendors by gross revenue.

Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar easily secured the top spot last year, with $4,646,220 in gross revenue, according to data provided by the Fair.

The three Sweet Martha’s locations together raked in more than twice the revenue reported by the second-highest earner, Pronto Pups, which operates eight locations.

According to the Fair, Pronto Pups reported $2,182,709.72 in gross revenue in 2023. Take that, corn dogs.

Third on the list, with $1,527,512 in gross revenue, is the Food Building’s iconic Mouth Trap Cheese Curds.

The Fresh French Fries operation, which has two locations, ranked fourth with $1,354,224 in gross revenue.

Rounding out the top five is the Dairy Building's Dairy Goodness Bar and All-You-Can-Drink Milk on Judson Avenue, both owned and operated by Midwest Dairy.

The organization's ventures reported $1,293,513.68 in gross revenue last year.

A bottomless cup of milk will cost fair-goers $3 in 2024 instead of $2, marking the stand's first price hike since $1 all-you-can drink milk became $2 all-you-can-drink milk back in 2015 .

Next on the 2023 revenue list is The Perfect Pickle, which reported $1,276,537 in gross revenue.

The fried pickle destination, which has two locations, narrowly beat out the Corn Roast, which reported $1,186,932 in gross revenue, for the sixth spot.

The final three vendors in the top ten each have a single location at the fair.

Carousel BBQ, home of the popular smoked turkey legs, reported $907,250 in gross revenue in 2023.

The Blue Barn, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, landed ninth with $842,780.75 in gross revenue.

And finally, with the help of its famous egg rolls, Que Viet took the tenth spot with $754,721 in gross revenue.
