One teenage boy shot, the other stabbed in incident at Hibbing park

Two boys were left injured – one shot and one stabbed – following an incident at a park in Hibbing early Wednesday.

Hibbing Police Department says its officers responded to the area of Bennett Park shortly before 2 a.m. on a report of multiple gunshots. When they arrived, officers found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

He was taken to Fairview in Hibbing to be treated for his injuries, before being sent to Aspirus St. Lukes in Duluth.

While at the scene, officers found the other boy with stab wounds, and took him to Fairview for his injuries before being taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center in Duluth.

The two boys knew each other according to police, but details regarding how the incident unfolded have not been provided as of Thursday morning.

The incident remains under investigation and charges have been sent to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office.
