Police identify pedestrian killed by SUV driver in Blaine

The pedestrian struck and killed by an SUV on Saturday has been identified by the police.

Multiple police agencies responded to a motor vehicle crash with a possible injury near University Avenue NE and 85th Avenue NE in Blaine at 5:48 a.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol says that Randy Jay Bjurstrom, 27,  was walking in the lanes of traffic on southbound University Ave. near the intersection when an SUV driver struck him while traveling south.

Responders provided life-saving measures, but Bjurstrom was declared dead at the scene.

This incident is still under investigation.
