New Balance store to open this fall at the Galleria

Sneaker brand New Balance will open a store at the Galleria this fall.

The new concept store, which will be the retailer's first of its kind in the Twin Cities area, will feature "trend-forward" shoes, clothing and accessories, with items for men, women and children, according to an announcement.

The new store is slated to open this fall across from Alo Yoga and Pittsburgh Blue in the space formerly occupied by Soft Surroundings, which has closed all locations nationwide.

Boston, Massachusetts-based New Balance was founded in 1906 as the New Balance Arch Support Company.

Today, the global brand is best known for its sneakers and athletic wear.
