A woman was left with severe injuries after being attacked by her three pit bulls in Brooklyn Park on Tuesday.

Brooklyn Park police responded to Huntington Place Apartments in the 5800 block of Zane Ave. North at 9:26 p.m. after hearing a woman yelling for help.

When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from severe injuries after being mauled by her three pit bulls. A Huntington Place security guard was also injured on his left hand when attempting to stop the attack, wounding one of the dogs in the process.

Officers provided medical aid to her until she was taken to the hospital, where she remains in "critical but stable" condition.

While what sparked the attack is unknown at this time, police have confirmed that the dogs did belong to the victim and her boyfriend.

One dog was euthanized at the scene due to aggression, while the other two were taken into custody. One of them was euthanized later due to the severity of its injuries, while the third dog remains quarantined at an animal shelter.

This marks the third dog attack in Brooklyn Park in two months, with a three-year-old killed in an attack by an XL Bully breed in July, with a seven-year-old child injured in an attack by a pit bull less than a week later.

Note: The details provided in this story are based on law enforcement’s latest version of events, and may be subject to change.

The only people in defense of the dog breed are the ones who were never attacked by that dog breed.
