After a campfire accident on Friday night near Hibbing left seven people injured and one man dead, the family of one of the wounded has created a GoFundMe to help with her recovery.

Three people were reported to have suffered severe burns from "exploding flames" on the 12000 block of Jaranson Road at 8:20 p.m., according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Those who suffered serious injuries include Marvin Thiesen, 53, of Hibbing, who later died, and a 14-year-old girl who was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital.

The third seriously injured party was mother-of-three, Kendall Krogseng, whose family has set up a fundraising campaign.

"Like most people, our parents were looking forward to a long holiday weekend. Spending Labor Day with family and friends doing what they love, camping and trail riding," the GoFundMe reads. "Unfortunately, mom was in an incredibly freak accident involving a campfire explosion."

Police say that friends and family members had gathered to celebrate the holiday weekend when an “unknown flammable liquid” was used to start a fire.

Krogseng experienced burns to her face, neck, arm, abdomen, legs, and feet.

"Mom, quick thinking as she is, knew to roll and extinguish herself. She then took a shower until EMS arrived," the GoFundMe reads. "She spent some time in the emergency room on Friday and Saturday until being transferred to the intensive care unit."

As of an update on Tuesday, she was discharged from the ICU and placed on the burn floor. She is scheduled for a skin grafting on Wednesday and will spend a week in the hospital to recover.
