Pickup driver killed in collision with semi-trailer in southwestern MN

A pickup truck driver was killed in a collision with a semi-trailer in Yellow Medicine County on Thursday.

Local police say the crash was reported just after 4 p.m. at County Road 8 and 250th Avenue and happened when the driver of a Ford F-150 failed to yield at the intersection.

The F-150 was struck by a 2010 Peterbilt Semi that was pulling a loaded gravel trailer. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch at the southwest of the intersection.

The Ford driver, identified as 60-year-old Robert Proctor, of Cottonwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver was taken to Avera Granite Falls Hospital by a private party after suffering non-life threatening injuries.
