Salmonella outbreak from Wisconsin farm linked to illness in Minnesota, other states

A Salmonella outbreak linked to eggs from a Wisconsin farm has led to reports of illness across the country, including in Minnesota.

The US. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued a food safety alert for eggs from Milo's Poultry Farms LLC. The supplier also recalled eggs of all types, sizes and expiration dates on Friday.

The eggs — which were sold in stores and restaurants in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin — have been linked to reports of illness in 65 people from nine different states.

In addition to the three states where the eggs were sold, illness has been reported in California, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Utah and Virginia. Of the cases reported, 42 were in Wisconsin.

The CDC says the Salmonella outbreak linked to the eggs is resistant to certain antibiotics. The agency recommends throwing away any recalled eggs and washing any items and surfaces they may have touched.
