New Ulm Oktoberfest named one of the best celebrations in the U.S., again

One of the best Oktoberfest celebrations in the U.S. may be right here in Minnesota.

USA Today 10Best has unveiled its 2024 Readers' Choice Award winners for best Oktoberfest. Coming in at number 10 is New Ulm 's Oktoberfest.

While it's a readers' choice award — one for which the festival campaigned — USA Today says the nomination process is curated by a panel of subject matter experts and editors before being put to a public vote.

New Ulm's Oktoberfest celebration has been given its laurels repeatedly, including inclusions on this same list in 2023 , 2017, and 2015.

The city's sprawling fest takes place over the first two weekends in October with get-togethers across the city, including larger events at the Best Western Plus (all four days), Downtown New Ulm (Oct. 5), Morgan Creek Vineyards (Oct. 5), and Schell’s Brewery (Oct. 12).
