    Delta will introduce nonstop flights from MSP to Rome in 2025

    Travelers bolting from the Twin Cities next summer will now have the ability to fly nonstop to Rome from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport .

    The new route is part of a big announcement from Delta Air Lines on Friday, unveiling its largest-ever slate of trans-Atlantic flights which will have a big focus on Italy in summer 2025. The airline will offer four weekly nonstop flights from MSP to Rome, the first time it has offered the route in nearly a decade.

    "[Rome] has been our top unserved European market," says Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates MSP Airport. "It also provides Minnesota travelers with another prominent in-demand destination during the peak travel season.”

    In addition to new routes at other airports, Delta further announced it will debut Delta One Lounges in Boston, Los Angeles, and Seattle, in addition to the one the recently opened at New York's JFK Airport. The airline will also introduce free wi-fi on international flights and more premium seating on its A330-900 and A350-900 planes.

    Flights from Minneapolis to Rome will begin on May 23, 2025. Travelers will reportedly have the ability to begin booking tickets on Sept. 21, representatives from Delta confirmed to Bring Me The News.

    Delta currently flies direct from MSP to London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin, while other Transatlantic routes from the Twin Cities includes seasonal services by Aer Lingus to Dublin and Condor to Frankfurt, Germany.
