Minnesota Lynx mania is gripping downtown Minneapolis, with the city repainting the surface of 1st Avenue in honor of Cheryl Reeve's team ahead of Game 2 against the Phoenix Mercury Wednesday evening.

The city's public works department painted "Go Lynx!" in blue and yellow ahead next to Target Center, after doing the same for the Timberwolves during their exciting run to the Western Conference Finals earlier this year.

"We’re painting the town @minnesotalynx !" Mayor Jacob Frey wrote on Twitter. "Minneapolis couldn’t be more excited for this WNBA playoff run."

Game 2 gets between the Lynx and Mercury gets underway at 8:30 p.m. at Target Center, and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Napheesa Collier scored 38 as she led the Lynx to a 102-95 victory in Game 1 over the weekend. A win tonight will send the Lynx through to the next round.
