Two plaques were stolen from Summit Overlook Park in St. Paul over the weekend.

The St. Paul police department posted to Facebook on Tuesday, asking the community if anyone had seen two 18"x24" plaques, which display information about the park and its history, and contain valuable metals.

"Not only is there a cost associated with replacing these plaques, it takes away from the public space," police say. "This incident is much like the Harriet Island sculpture being damaged earlier this summer."

Police are referring to an incident in April when a Harriet Island Regional Park worker noticed someone had attempted to remove a heavy bronze art installation, as reported at the time by WCCO .

The sculpture, known as "Flood Waves," was removed and stored in a safe place by the City as a preventative measure.

Anyone with information regarding the plaques or their whereabouts can call Sergeant Carlson at 651-266-5572.
