Minneapolis restaurant a finalist for nation's best chicken sandwich

A solid chicken sandwich is a restaurant staple, and one of the best in the country might sit in Minneapolis .

Hen House Eatery is one of two sandwiches that made the final round of Artesano's Chicken Sandwich Challenge . The bread company originally had eight restaurants competing in its contest, and the Minneapolis restaurant has made it to the final round.

Competing for Hen House is its The GOAT sandwich with grilled chicken coated in cajun seasoning and BBQ sauce and layered with bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, red onions, tomato, and mayo.

The champion will be determined by a public vote — admittedly a little unofficial since the number of people who have eaten at Hen House and The Hayden in San Antonio, Texas, is presumably small — that runs through Friday, Sept. 27.

The winner, which will be awarded a $20,000 price, will be announced on National Chicken Sandwich Day, Nov. 9.
