St. Louis County resident burns down their home without a permit

Police say a homeowner in the process of demolishing their home set the property on fire Friday evening.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, fire crews were called to the 6700 block of Seville Road in Solway Township at around 8 p.m, with crews arriving to find an unoccupied home fully engulfed in flames.

It had reportedly been set on fire by the owner intentionally in order to destroy what was left of the home during a demolition.

The homeowner did not have a proper permit for the burn, according to the sheriff’s office.

No injuries were reported in the fire.
