    Two from Minnetonka killed, seven injured in Aitkin County crash

    Two people from Minnetonka were killed in a four-vehicle crash in Aitkin County that also left seven others injured, five of whom are in a critical condition.

    The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash was reported at 5:15 p.m. Friday when an eastbound GMC Suburban pulling a trailer ran a stop sign on County Road 3 as it intersected with Hwy. 169.

    As it crossed the intersection it was t-boned by a GMC Yukon traveling north on Hwy. 169, with the Yukon then striking a Jeep and a Dodge Ram that were waiting at the intersection on westbound County Road 3.

    Two people in the Suburban, 61-year-old Elizabeth Baldwin and 92-year-old Marlo Baldwin, were killed in the collision, with the state patrol saying Elizabeth Baldwin wasn't wearing a seat belt.

    Five other people suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. They were the 61-year-old Minnetonka man driving the Suburban, the 44-year-old woman driving the Yukon and three young passengers: an 18-year-old man and two girls aged 14 and 11.

    The two other passengers in the Yukon, an 18-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

    The Yukon and the Suburban sustained "severe" damage in the collision, while the Jeep and Ram received "moderate" damage. The drivers of the Jeep and Ram were not injured.
