Lois Riess, the Minnesota woman spending life in prison for two shocking 2018 murders, is at the center of a new HBO documentary set to premiere this month.

"I'm Not A Monster: The Lois Riess Murders" will explore Riess' murder of her husband, David, in their Blooming Prairie home, as well as the subsequent nationwide manhunt during which Riess murdered 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson in Florida.

Riess, who pleaded guilty to both murders, is believed to have targeted Hutchinson for murder and identity theft because of their physical resemblance.

The two-part HBO documentary features Riess' first-ever sit down interview, during which Riess alleges years of abuse by her husband and claims to have lapses in her memory of her time on the run.

"I wasn't running, I wasn't hiding, I was in and out of real life," Riess says in an snippet shared in the trailer, later stating:  "I had never anticipated hurting that woman."

The trailer shows the documentary will also feature interviews with authorities who led the search for and prosecution of Riess, as well as those known to her and others in the Blooming Prairie community shocked by the events of 2018.

The documentary will be available to stream in two parts with the premiere set for Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Oct. 16.
