Minnesota has a real competitor on the new season of NBC's The Voice .

During Monday's episode, Cameron Wright wowed judges, earning a four-chair turn, with his gospel-infused rendition of Barbara Streisand's "The Way We Were."

It took about a single note for two judges to turn their chair — the show's vote of confidence during its blind auditions. While all four judges wanted the Minneapolis singer to join their team, Wright ultimately decided to link up with coach Michael Bublé.

Wright's mother was a musician and they were showcasing his talent from a young age, including the chance for a duet with Stevie Wonder during a concert.

Wright, who lived in St. Louis and Los Angeles before recently returning to Minneapolis , is already being pegged as an early favorite to come out on top during the show's 26th season.

Their four-octave range will undoubtedly be familiar to many Minnesotans who have seen Wright perform on local stages like The Dakota and First Avenue .
