One More Day of Heat Wave
The heat wave will last one more day before we get a break in the high temperatures. A heat advisory will be in effect for southeast Kansas, most of Oklahoma, southern Missouri and all of Arkansas today. The advisories start between 11 and 1 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Coffeyville is expected to see a high of 99 with a heat index up to 109 today.

Stuttgart Police Department Incident Reports: July 16, 2024
Intersection of S. Main St. and E. 6th St., possession of a schedule VI substance. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with only one functioning headlight. The officer noticed a strong marijuana odor. The driver said he did not have any marijuana in the vehicle but had smoked marijuana in the car earlier. During a vehicle search, officers discovered a package containing a leafy green substance under the front passenger seat, a similar substance rolled in cigar paper, and a clear plastic baggy containing green leafy matter. The officers arrested the driver for possession and transported him to the police department.
