Man Charged After Running Over Victim With Vehicle in Fenton
The Broome County Sheriff's Office says a Chenango Forks man is charged after domestic dispute, during which, they say he ran over another person. According to the office, on Monday afternoon the office responded to a report of a dispute involving multiple people and a gun on Pigeon Hill Road in the Town of Fenton.
Binghamton Woman Pleads Guilty To Escaping From Halfway House
A 34-year-old Binghamton woman admitted in federal court to escaping from a halfway house in 2023, where she was serving time for a drug charge. Jade Pittsley also admitted to meth distribution. Authorities say Pittsley was serving a federal term for a drug offense in November 2023. Pittsley left the halfway house and didn't return. Police found Pittsley days later with methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

County Sheriff’s Blotter: Individual gives false ID and shoplifting
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office released reports of recent arrests in the area. Twomey, 34, of Marathon, was arrested on Sunday (Aug. 25). The county sheriff’s report stated that officers conducted a trespass investigation at the Thrifty Shopper store on Route 281 in Cortlandville. The investigation determined that several individuals were trespassing on the property.
Johnson City man convicted on weapons charges
A Johnson City man was convicted of weapons charges following a trial in Broome County Court this week. According to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, 47-year-old Grady J. Hunter was found guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees. The jury took less than two hours to come back with a guilty verdict.
Cortland man with dementia missing since Friday night, say police
The Cortland Police Department says 83-year-old Theodore Vincent Testa is missing, has dementia, and may be in need of medical attention. “He was last seen on Homer Avenue in the city of Cortland, Cortland County, at 9:45 PM on Friday, August 30,” according to a missing vulnerable adult alert issued overnight.

State Police will increase patrols to combat drunk, impaired, and reckless driving throughout this Labor Day weekend, the enforcement details started today and runs through Monday, September 2, 2024. Labor Day weekend traditionally results in heavy traffic throughout the state, Drivers can expect to see sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols by State Police and local law enforcement agencies during this holiday weekend. Troopers will be using both marked State Police vehicles and Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement vehicles. Last year, during the Labor Day weekend, Troopers arrested 154 people for DWI, issued 8,762 total tickets, including 3,407 for speeding.
