Habitat for Humanity 125th home dedication in Bristol
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County recently dedicated the organization’s 125th home, located at 5802 Beaver Dam Road in Bristol. As a single mom of two growing boys, Jenny and her family set goals and balanced needs vs. wants while they saved up and then applied for a Habitat home. It was important for Jenny to pass on to her children the idea that anything is possible if they just set their minds to it.

Winners of Bucks County Short Fiction Contest announced
The winners of the Bucks County Short Fiction Contest, hosted and funded by Bucks County Community College, have been announced. Bob McCrillis, of Doylestown, won first place for “Hotel Oklahoma.” Megan Monforte, of Doylestown, was awarded second place for “Strawberry Moon.” Jennifer Fritch, of New Hope, captured third place for “Come Clean.” Novelist Margarita Montimore, author of Oona Out of Order and Acts of Violet, made the final selection.

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck announced the appointment of Danakelly Hampton as Chief Deputy Coroner. Hampton boasts forensic knowledge, training and experience. Golf outing proceeds benefit two charitable organizations
Worth & Company’s annual fall charity golf outing raised $100,000 for Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund and the Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine Scholarship Fund. The event was held at the Lederach Golf Club at Harleysville and the proceeds will be split evenly between the two charities. There were 144 golfers registered and over 100 sponsors and donors who contributed to the outing.
