    Bristol Tenn. Fire Department’s new rescue truck equipped with ‘noteworthy’ gear

    BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL)—The Bristol Tennessee Fire Department revealed its first custom-designed rescue vehicle, Rescue 7, on Thursday.

    Rescue 7 is outfitted with various types of life-saving equipment and gear previously carried on fire trucks and ambulances. With the addition of Rescue 7, the department will have all its essential tools gathered in one place. The truck is equipped with tools for fire, water and crash rescues.

    According to a social media post from the department , Rescue 7 is equipped with “noteworthy” features such as:

    • Built-in station to immediately refill air packs that are critical to firefighter safety
    • Outlets for a variety of hydraulic tools for safer, quicker operations
    • Pull-out shelves that help with organization and provide easy access

    The post said the rescue truck costs under $440,000. Sullivan County contributed $190,000 to the total cost.

    Rescue 7 will be housed at Station 3 and will respond to all rescue and structure fire calls.
