Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Bristol to open “The Marketplace” dining spot on Tuesday

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL)—When many people hear “Hard Rock,” they think of a traditional café-style restaurant. However, the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Bristol is adding a unique feature in hopes of becoming a popular dining spot within the casino.

The new dining hall, “The Marketplace,” is a fast-service dining hall above the casino. The brand is introducing a new concept.

“We are the first in the Hard Rock brand to open up a food hall concept,” said Sunwoo Choi, Vice President of Food & Beverage for the Bristol location.

The Marketplace features three unique restaurants: Brick’d Italian Kitchen, Street Tacos, and Fish & Chicken Co.

“[Brick’d] is a unique concept with all of our food being imported from Italy,” said Sous Chef Tim Bowker. “[Street Tacos] is authentic Mexican food. [And Fish & Chicken Co.] is a unique concept. It has the Southern culinary.”

Fish & Chicken Co. is exclusive to the Bristol location. Choi said this option was chosen to honor the casino’s location.

“Compared to all our properties in our brand,” said Choi. “This is the only one in the South. And we wanted to feature and pay homage to the South.

There are options for those with dietary restrictions as well.

Ashleigh Hart serves as the Multi-Outlet Restaurant Manager for the Bristol location. She said the goal is for all guests to enjoy a meal at the casino.

“Whether it’s downstairs at [Mr Lucky’s] or upstairs in The Marketplace,” said Hart. “You’re always going to have something good here to eat. And with people who take pride in their job.”

The Marketplace’s opening also offers opportunities for those looking to build a career at Hard Rock.

“This place has so many opportunities for everyone,” said Val Chobanu, Director of Food and Beverage. “And so many professionals can join us.”

The Marketplace is set to open on Tuesday, July 9. It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until midnight and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m.
