New breakfast spot ‘Cast Iron Café’ opens in Bristol, Virginia

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A new breakfast restaurant opened its doors in Bristol, Virginia.

Cast Iron Café is located at 1386 Old Airport Road, is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on weekdays and is closed on weekends.

Rebekah Huntsman and her husband Dakota own the café and both come from culinary backgrounds.

“We’re both chefs in fine dining,” Huntsman said. “He’s got 20 years experience, 15 years for myself. When we got married and had kids, we wanted to slow down a little bit from that chef lifestyle and just do breakfast and lunch for the community and also have time for our family.”

The Cast Iron Café menu features a variety of coffees and breakfast staples. Huntsman said the café makes all their food from scratch.

“We’ve got paninis, salads, soups, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches,” she said. “And we also do specialty coffee drinks.”

Huntsman told News Channel 11 the married chefs hope to engage with Bristol through the drive-thru coffee shop.

“The thing we’re looking forward to the most is getting to know our community, getting to know our neighbors,” Huntsman said. “Having them come through for some quality food and quality coffee, being able to serve them and give them something of value.”
