    Bristol, Va. traffic stop nets 2,000 fentanyl pills, police say

    BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — Police found around 2,000 fentanyl pills during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning, according to the Bristol, Virginia Police Department.

    The department said vice and narcotics detectives and patrol officers conducted a traffic stop around 2 a.m.

    After a police K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, detectives searched the vehicle and found the fentanyl pills, according to police.

    Police arrested Jessica D. Pruitt, 35, of Bristol, Va., and charged her with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug.

    The Sullivan County Second Judicial Drug Task Force, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
