Dangerous heat and strong storms take a break
The dangerous heat from Monday and Tuesday is over and we can thank some severe storms for bringing us the cool down. High temperatures for the second day in a row reached into the 90s for most of southeast Wisconsin. It's the ninth time this year that highs have reached the 90s which is the average. It's also the fourth time Milwaukee has hit 94 degrees which is the hottest temp of the year. Northern counties stayed in the 80s since they saw storms first.
Taking on a new language
When Kendra Anderson moved to Lake County, one of the first things she noticed was the large Spanish-speaking population. According to the United States Census Bureau, nearly 30% of people in Lake County over the age of five speak a language other than English at home. As she works on becoming a teacher, Anderson is hoping the Spanish she’s learned at College of Lake County (CLC) will help her become a better communicator.

EV Manufacturer Ymer Technology Announces Opening of U.S. Headquarters in Illinois

Ymer Technology, a manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) components for the heavy equipment industry, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Lake County Partners, and the Village of Buffalo Grove, announced the grand opening of its new U.S. headquarters in Buffalo Grove. The company’s $5.7 million investment, bolstered by a Reimagining Energy and Vehicles in Illinois (REV Illinois) agreement, will enable Ymer Technology to produce cooling technology and thermal management systems for EVs while supporting Illinois’ clean energy economy.
