Some big news this morning for denizens of the downtown Leesburg coffeehouse scene. The longtime shop King Street Coffee is moving out and a new coffee shop is on its way in. The owner of King Street Coffee — which opened back around 2010 at 110 South King Street — posted the news on social media.

85-Year-Old Leesburg Cyclist Fatally Struck by Car, Driver Cooperates with FHP Investigation
An 85-year-old bicyclist from Leesburg lost his life on Sunday afternoon after a collision with a car. The accident occurred at approximately 3:39 p.m. on Palm Tree Trail, just north of Beach Park Road, when the man was struck from behind by a vehicle, as reported by Leesburg-News. The cyclist was heading northbound when the incident took place.
Virginia Dream FC soccer team wins another championship
The Virginia Dream FC soccer team, on the heels of becoming the United Premier Soccer League’s DMV South Conference playoff champions, also won another recent title. The Dream, based in Falls Church, defeated the host Annapolis Blues, 2-0, to win the men’s National Premier Soccer League’s Mid-Atlantic Conference crown. The win came after the Dream earned a 3-2 comeback victory over Alexandria Reds Pro in a semifinal match.
Driver cited for April incident that badly hurt pedestrian
Vienna police have cited a driver who allegedly struck and badly injured a pedestrian at Church and East streets, N.E., on April 24. The pedestrian was walking southbound in the crosswalk on Church Street at 6:40 p.m. that day when the motorist, who was driving northbound on East Street, N.E., turned left onto Church Street and the vehicle struck the pedestrian, police said.
