As CT HUSKY for Immigrants Expands, Advocates Push for More
As of July 1, a state insurance program will cover children up to the age of 15 who wouldn’t otherwise qualify for Medicaid because of their immigration status. Advocates, legislators and residents rallied at Fair Haven Community Health Care in New Haven on Monday morning to celebrate the expansion of state-sponsored insurance coverage for children regardless of immigration status. As of July 1, the program will cover children up to the age of 15 who wouldn’t otherwise qualify for Medicaid because of their immigration status. Previously, the program covered children up to the age of 12. Kids enrolled in the program keep coverage through age 19.
