Healthy teeth linked to a healthy heart, CWRU study finds
CLEVELAND, Ohio—When it comes to keeping your heart healthy, maintaining good oral health may be key, according to a new Case Western Reserve University study. Researchers at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine found a link between tooth loss and an increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease. What’s more, the risk of heart disease death goes up with the loss of additional teeth.
Cleveland high school students travel to Dominican Republic to deliver prosthetic hands developed in robotics club
CLEVELAND, Ohio – This week, 11 Cleveland students will travel to the Dominican Republic to deliver 20 prosthetic hands they developed in the Great Lakes Science Center Robotics Initiative to children in need. They will also be bringing along two 3-D printers and materials to create 20 more prosthetics during their trip.
Cleveland Public Library reaches agreement with union on new contract
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Public Library has announced a new collective bargaining agreement with the Laborers' Local 860 that will be in place for the next three years. According to a release, the two sides reached agreement "on a comprehensive economic package that includes a higher starting rate of pay for new Safety and Security Officers to help attract and retain safety staff."
