Chicago man arrested after allegedly carjacking, robbing victim at gunpoint
CHICAGO - A Chicago man was arrested this week after allegedly carjacking another man at gunpoint earlier this month on the city's West Side. Davien Binion, 23, faces one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm, one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and one citation for annual gun offender registration.

American Legion’s door shattered again amid its closure
Police were dispatched July 8 to 500 Circle Avenue for a report of criminal damage to Forest Park’s American Legion. As American Legion Post 414 prepares for closure, members are clearing out the building for future buyers, according to the police report. While someone was in the process of removing items from the building, he noticed the glass pane in the front door was shattered, officials said. This is not the first time something like this has happened, as earlier this year, the American Legion’s front door was shattered with a BB gun. There was no sign of entry and no items stolen, according to the police report. The estimated cost of repair is $700.

Bally’s changes hotel location at Chicago casino project
Bally’s Corp. has made some changes to its ambitious 30-acre Chicago casino development, including plans for its hotel. The project is still getting a 500-key hotel. However, in the latest design update, the tower has been moved to sit along the southern end of the future Bally’s Chicago Casino, near Ohio Street along the Chicago River, pending approval by the Chicago Department of Planning & Development, Bally’s detailed in a release. The hotel was moved due to unforeseen underground infrastructure, Bally’s said.
Former CFO of Chicago’s Loretto Hospital charged with $15M wire fraud
Anosh Ahmed, formerly the CFO of Loretto Hospital from 2018-2021, has been charged with 11 counts of federal wire fraud. He is charged alongside the hospital’s former chief transformation officer, Heather Bergdahl, and Sameer Suhail, the former CEO of medical supply company Foresight Health and a personal friend of Ahmed. The trio faces 14 counts of wire fraud, with a maximum sentence of 20 years for each count.
