    They're in the game: See what South Shore locals are rated in college football video game

    At long last, EA Sports' College Football 25 video game has been released.

    With some players receiving early access to the game Monday afternoon ahead of its standard release on Friday, South Shore football fans might come across some familiar names when taking the field for the first time.

    We identified eight local players (13, combined with the Brockton area) in the game.

    Here is a list with their overall ratings and standout attributes:

    Ozzy Trapilo, Boston College, Norwell

    Position: Right tackle

    Overall: 85 (tied for highest on team, 9th-ranked at his position in the game)

    Standout attributes: Awareness (88), strength (87)

    During his redshirt junior year in 2023, Trapilo started 12 games and did not allow a sack in 363 dropback snaps. He graduated from BC High in 2020 and earned the Scholar-Athlete Award from the Jack Grinold Eastern Mass. Chapter of the National Football Foundation his senior year.

    Drew Kendall, Boston College, Norwell

    Position: Center

    Overall: 84

    Standout attributes: Awareness (87), strength (81)

    Kendall started all 13 games for the Eagles as a redshirt sophomore last fall and contributed to the Eagles averaging 198.8 rushing yards per game. He was the No. 1 rated recruit in Massachusetts when he graduated from Noble and Greenough in 2020.

    Kalel Mullings, Michigan, West Roxbury/Thayer Academy

    Position: Running back

    Overall: 81

    Standout attributes: Speed (86), strength (81), trucking (89), jumping (91)

    Mullings took three rushes for 21 yards in the Wolverines' National Championship win over Washington in January. He was the 2019 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year at Milton Academy.

    Spencer Cassell, Rice, Hingham

    Position: Right tackle

    Overall: 78

    Standout attributes: Strength (83), awareness (95)

    Cassell enters his first season at Rice after transferring from Harvard. He was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team as a senior in 2023. He graduated from Hingham High in 2018.

    Owen McGowan, Boston College, Canton

    Position: Middle linebacker

    Overall: 74

    Standout attributes: Speed (76), hit power (81)

    McGowan played in all 13 games for the Eagles at linebacker and on special teams last season. He was the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior at Catholic Memorial in 2020.

    Ryan Mosesso, UMass, Marshfield

    Position: Right tackle

    Overall: 71 overall

    Standout attributes: Strength (81)

    Mosesso saw action in two games for the Minutemen last season. He was a three-star tight end recruit out of Noble and Greenough in 2020.

    Henry Hasselbeck, UCLA, Westwood/Xaverian

    Position: Quarterback

    Overall: 67

    Standout attributes: Speed (85), awareness (99)

    Hasselbeck was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023 as he led Xaverian to a Division 1 state title his senior year of high school.

    Johnny Garrett, Virginia Tech, Scituate

    Position: Right tackle

    Overall: 76

    Standout attributes: Strength (87)

    Garrett was a special teamer for the Hokies and appeared in all 13 games. He played both tight end and defensive end at BC High and graduated in 2021.

    Erik Russell, Wake Forest, Scituate

    Position: Right tackle

    Overall: 71

    Standout attributes: Strength (87)

    Russell played 309 snaps in nine games and three starts as a redshirt sophomore last season. He graduated from BC High in 2020.

    Zach Vaughan, Wake Forest, Milton

    Position: Right Tackle

    Overall: 70

    Standout attributes: Strength (86)

    Vaughan saw action in five games for the Demon Deacons last fall. He was a three-star recruit, and the 11th-best prospect in Massachusetts, out of Milton Academy in 2019.
