    Khalil’s Kitchen – 264 Broadway St., Taunton

After the devastating fire at Khalil’s Kitchen, at 880 Main St. in Brockton, owner Rudy Alves isn’t giving up on his food dreams and is working on opening a food truck.

“It’s a true testament of determination and resilience even when everything seemed to fall apart our dedication wouldn’t let us sit there and get comfortable,” Alves said.

Loyal customers can expect to try their famous house-made fries, deep-fried chicken, steak and shrimp smothered with delicious sauces. So far, Alves has the truck and is renovating it and perfecting it for his customers. He said he's excited to launch and can’t wait to show the region what he has in store for the future.

Right now, the food business is waiting for approval from the board of health to officially launch its food truck, but in the meantime, customers can visit its Instagram page and book for future catering events.

The business is happy that the city voted for them and wants to show its appreciation through deep-fried crunchy russet potatoes. The celebration starts on Friday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Shovel Town Brewery – 50 Oliver St., North Easton

From noon to 10 p.m., Shovel Town Brewery is turning off the lights and upping the vibes in its summer fest on Saturday, July 27. Patrons can enjoy grilled food specials, snow cones, bouncy houses, face painting and bring your bathing suit for a water balloon fight.

Come to Easton and enjoy amazing organic dishes at the Langwater Farms lunch corner.
