BRODHEAD, Wis. — Alecia Dahl scored 15 of her game-high 26 points in the second half to power host Brodhead to a 59-49 victory over Big Foot in Rock Valley Conference-Rock Division girls basketball Monday night.
Dahl hit three 3-pointers and had 11 points in the first half as Brodhead took a 23-11 lead.
The Chiefs began to heat up in the second half with Leah Paulsen scoring all 18 of her points. But Big Foot couldn’t get enough stops to crawl back into the game, despite scoring 38 second-half points.
Lizzie Lueck chipped in 12 points and Addie Larson had 11 for Big Foot (7-16, 3-11 RVC).
Addie Yates had 14 of her 17 points in the second half for Brodhead (15-8, 9-5). Brenley Jones gave Brodhead a third double-figure scorer with 11 points. The Cardinals were 16-of-24 at the free-throw line.
• EVANSVILLE 68, CLINTON 57: Clinton’s Cougars put together a solid first half, battling Evansville to a 31-31 tie before the Blue Devils (7-16, 7-7) took charge in the second half.
Evansville’s Brooklyn Maves went to work after the intermission, scoring 12 of her 16 points while Ava Brandenburg merely picked up where she left off. She had 12 points at the half and tacked on 11 more for a game-high 23.
Hannah Hahn sparked Clinton (3-19, 1-13) in the first half, scoring all 16 of her points. Lylah Peters converted three 3-pointers in the second half and had 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Cougars in the contest.
Clinton finished with eight 3-pointers as Hahn also finished with three. The Cougars were just 5-of-11 at the free-throw line, however.
Evansville converted on seven treys and was 11-of-17 at the free-throw line.
