    Brodhead, Big Foot notch comfortable wins in playoff openers

    No. 5 seed Brodhead raced out to a 32-point halftime lead with 51 points in the first 18 minutes of its 78-40 WIAA Division 4 regional win over No. 12 Wisconsin Heights on Tuesday night in Brodhead.

    Addison Yates led the Cardinals with 28 points, and Alecia Dahl scored 26.

    Brodhead’s win sets up a meeting with No. 4 Belleville at 7 p.m. Friday night in Belleville.

    Walworth Big Foot 47, River Valley 31 — The seventh-seeded Chiefs got 18 points from Leah Paulsen and nine from Mya Gonzalez to set up a meeting with No. 2 seed Madison Edgewood on Friday. The Crusaders are ranked third in the state in Division 3, according to WisSports.net.

    Big Foot jumped out to a 28-8 halftime lead — after River Valley made just a single field goal in the opening 18 minutes — and never looked back. Friday’s game is in Madison at 7 p.m.
