    Brodhead/Juda boys, girls sweep RVC triple dual track meet

    BRODHEAD, Wis. — Host Brodhead/Juda’s boys and girls teams swept a Rock Valley Conference triple dual meet on Tuesday.

    While depth carried the Cardinals boys past Beloit Turner (83-63) and Evansville (80-61), the Brodhead/Juda girls piled up individual championships in defeating Turner 88-57 and routing Evansville 106-39.

    Addison Yates was unstoppable as she took four titles: the 100 hurdles (16.37), the 300 hurdles (49.95), the high jump (5-0) and the long jump (16-4.75). Stella Arn won the 100 (12.47) and 200 (26.20) and Kalena Riemer won the 400 (59.90) and 800 (2:30.00). In the field events, Onni Williams won the shot put (36-0) and discus (89-3) with teammate Brynn Riesterer runnerup in the discus (88-4). Brenley Jones was first in the triple jup (32-5).

    The Cardinals won three of the four relays. The 4x200 relay team of Arn, Jones, Elliana Shank and Chesney Walker won in 1:54.86. Riemer, Taiya Hawkins, Olivia Hartwig and Madi Brown won the 4x400 relay in 4:37.60. Madi Arnold, Brown, Olivia Hartwig and Danica Dewrow won the 4x800 in 11:39.00.

    Turner’s girls downed Evansville 93-51 as senior Caitlin Wirth won the 1600 (5:50.00) and 3200 (12:34.00). Turner’s 4x100 relay of Ashi’ya House, Nevayah House, Smith and Harmony Moore-Ewing was first in 53.08.

    Bronwyn Sherlund was second in the 100 hurdles (17.13) as well as the 300 hurdles (52.47). Cheri Smith was second in the 200 (28.08), Navana Terrell second in the shot put (35-11) and Brijit Mosher was second in the high jump (4-8) and the triple jump (32-5).

    In the boys meet, Brodhead/Juda collected three firsts from Nathan Engen: in the triple jump (40-0), the 110 high hurdles (17.81) and the 300 hurdles (43.28). The Cards also picked up firsts from Gavin Pinnow in the 400 (53.35), Tegan Pinnow in the high jump (6-0) and the 4x800 relay of Marcus McIntyre, Jorge Villalva, Anton Pfeifer and Gauge Jorgenson (9:26.00).

    The Cards picked up plenty of seconds, too: Gunner Boegli in the 100 (11.59, Eric Woodward in the 200 (23.63), Nolan Bump in the 110 high hurdles (18.59), Gavin Pinnow in the high jump (6-0), Owen Hillstrom in the shot put (40-4). Nathan Engen was also second in the long jump (20-2.5).

    Evansville’s boys defeated Turner 84-62, despite a stellar day by senior Elijah Terrell. He won the 100 (11.16) and 200 meters (22.35) as well as the long jump (21-feet, 5-inches).

    Turner’s Thomas Peters won the 1600 (4:57.00) and 3200 (11:27.00) and Deaken Krause won the shot put (41-5). Turner’s Trevor Noack, Amzi Fruin, Kaden Cook and Noah Amosa won the 4x100 relay (46.53) while the quartet of Noah Dorr, Leyton Davies, Cook and Amosa won the 4x200 (1:41.60).
