Reading Public Library awarded Professional Development Mini-Grant
The Pennsylvania Department of Education Office of Commonwealth Libraries has announced that 14 libraries across Pennsylvania have been awarded Professional Development Mini-Grants to enable librarians and staff to develop new skills and stay up to date on current trends. In Berks County, the Reading Public Library received a $5,000 mini-grant.
Police investigate theft from games of skill machines
Selinsgrove, Pa. — State police say someone broke into into games of skill machines in Penn Township and stole more than $20,000 in gaming vouchers. Trooper Holt of PSP Selinsgrove said the theft occurred between June 7 and July 20 at a business along Route 522. The unknown suspect had broken into the machines and took $20,238 in gaming vouchers and also damaged a cup holder on a machine. Police did not identify the exact location of the theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Selinsgrove at 570-374-8145.
