Patti Maroney Named New Wheeling Head Women’s Golf Coach
Wheeling, W. Va. - On Thursday, the Wheeling University Athletic Department announced the hiring of Patti Maroney as the Head Women's Golf Coach at Wheeling University. Maroney will become the fourth Head Coach in program history, taking the reins from current Head Men's Golf Coach Rich Conwell. Ohio County jury convicts New York man of second-degree murder in Wheeling Island shooting
WHEELING, W.Va. — A New York man faces up to 40 years in prison after being convicted Friday by an Ohio County jury on a charge of second degree murder. The 12-member panel found Niyahjah Hales, 22, of Brooklyn, New York, guilty in the January 2021 shooting of Michael Jackson outside the Voodoo Lounge on Wheeling Island. Jackson, 41, died two months later.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Heat Wave Continues Throughout the Weekend
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Our second heat wave of the summer has arrived here in NCWV as lowland high temperatures have jumped back into the 90s for the weekend. Feels-like temperatures are expected to remain below triple digits for now, but with heat and humidity rising for the start of next week we do expect to see those feels-like temperatures starting to exceed 100 degrees by Monday afternoon. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be into the mid-90s across the lowlands. Luckily chances for convective showers throughout the evening to overnight hours Monday and Tuesday could give us some much-needed quick showers until we cool down as a result of a passing cold front into the middle of next week with showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday.
