Marshall Health welcomes new family medicine physicians
Marshall Health welcomes Jeffrey R. Hawk, D.O., and Evan McClanahan, M.D., to its team of primary care and occupational providers at Marshall Health Network. Hawk is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 25 years of experience in primary care and occupational medicine. He earned his medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, followed by a family practice residency at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He also served as medical director of Forum Health’s “Work Med” program, which provided occupational medicine services to local steel industry employees. Hawk is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WTAP) — A new law establishes a mission for the federal government to cure and prevent Parkinson’s disease. On Monday, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) spent the day in Charleston, W.Va., to celebrate the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act becoming law. The law took effect on July 2, after Senators Capito and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) reintroduced the legislation in March 2023.

St. Marys moves up to Class AA after 9-win season
ST. MARYS, W.Va. — A new challenge awaits St. Marys after advancing to postseason play in ten of the last twelve seasons. The Blue Devils are one of several Little Kanawha Conference Schools moving up a level to Class AA. Veteran head coach Jodi Mote is looking for contributions throughout the team with a roster of players that should be in the mid-30’s.
Delegate Stephens presents funding for Moundsville entities
MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia Delegate Jeff Stephens presented funding to entities within the city of Moundsville on Tuesday. 26 dogs rescued from deplorable conditions at Ohio home
HUBBARD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (KDKA) -- More than two dozen dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions at a home in Ohio, an animal shelter said.The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County said the 26 dogs and their elderly owner were found living in "deplorable conditions." The dogs were brought to the shelter, less than 10 miles across the Pennsylvania border.The rescue happened after humane agents got a tip about a home in Hubbard Township, CBS affiliate WKBN reported.
