Woman sentenced to 9 years in prison, found guilty of manslaughter after 2020 Broken Arrow crash

UPDATE (3/12/24) — A woman was sentenced to nine years in prison on Monday after being found guilty of manslaughter and other charges following a deadly Broken Arrow crash back in 2020.

Erin Taylor was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter, child endangerment, and driving under the influence of alcohol after Broken Arrow Police said she had drank alcohol before the deadly crash and had her 7-year-old daughter in the car with her.

The judge took the jury's recommendation for Taylor's sentencing, the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office said.

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — A 39-year-old woman was found guilty of manslaughter, among other charges, following a deadly crash that happened in 2020 in Broken Arrow, according to court records.

Erin Taylor was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter, child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD), the crash happened on July 17, 2020, near Kenosha and 145th.

BAPD said Taylor was driving a Ford Explorer west on Kenosha and tried to turn left onto Hemlock Avenue, turning into front of a motorcycle going east.

The driver of the motorcycle, 58-year Curtis Price, Jr., was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries, BAPD said.

According to BAPD, evidence was found that Taylor had drank alcohol before the crash and her daughter, who was 7 years old at the time, was in the car during the crash.

Taylor is set to be formally sentenced on March 11.
