Second day of Broken Arrow's New Orleans Block Party comes to close

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The annual New Orleans Block Party in Broken Arrow was back for the second day.

This event was started to revitalize New Orleans Square.

The event is filled with music that makes you want to dance along, mouth-watering food trucks and meet and greets with famous superheroes.

For some the best part of this event is the opportunity to support small businesses.

Teresa and Lanisha Taylor, a mother and daughter duo, started a jewelry business together.

They take old and broken jewelry and turn it into something beautiful.

The block party is a way for them to meet people, bond with each other and share their art.

"We're really excited. We're not excited about the heat, but we were excited," Teresa said.

Two booths over, another family business is taking off.

"I wanted to start a business and I really like slime," Claire said.

Claire, at just ten years old, started a slime business with her brother Grady.

"Most of the time she's the one that works at the front and tells people about the slime. I mostly make the sales," Grady said.

This is the second time at the block party for the Taylors, Grady and Claire, but this is the fourth year of this event.

The City said the party, music and food are the perfect way to bring people across Broken Arrow together.

Tomorrow is the last day of the block party, starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m.
