BRONSON — City Manager Brandon Mersman announced Thursday at 3:45 p.m. that there is no further need to boil Bronson city water.

The city lifted the boil water advisory issued on July 1 for around 50 homes and businesses in the city's southwest section around Douglass Street.

"We now have two negative sets of bacteria tests," Mersman reported.

The city and the state required negative tests two days in a row to lift the ban.

After a positive test at one home on July 2, Merman said, "Both tests from July 2 and July 3, 2024, came back negative for the presence of bacteria."

Bronson tested the water after problems with work on a service line caused low pressure in the city water system.

Mersman added, "The health and safety of our citizens has always been a top priority. We understand this has been an inconvenience for many, but our crews have done everything in their power to correct the issue. We truly appreciate everyone's patience."
