Yankees’ Carlos Rodon breaks silence about Aaron Boone’s 6th inning decision
New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon looked better, but still couldn’t get back into his previous winning ways after the falling 3-2 to the Cincinnati Reds. After a seven-start win streak, the $162 million lefty is now 0-4 with a 10.89 ERA in his last four starts. But he looked better against the Reds, going […] The post Yankees’ Carlos Rodon breaks silence about Aaron Boone’s 6th inning decision appeared first on ClutchPoints.

8 NYC men busted for dealing drugs, guns next to Yankee Stadium: DA
Eight Bronx men were indicted this week for allegedly peddling drugs and guns to an undercover detective and other buyers a block from Yankee Stadium, prosecutors said Wednesday. The defendants, including seven suspects from three families, were charged in a 108-count indictment after operating for more than a year out of a storefront and van a short walk from the ballpark, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office said. The probe started in March 2023 at the former Lush Smoke Shop at 90 East 161 Street where an undercover investigator bought cocaine and methamphetamine pills from alleged dealer Jose Tejada Jr, the district attorney’s...
Confusing announcement on fan favorite prospect's IL stint is another Yankees bummer
While it seems likely the Yankees will be forced to stick with Gleyber Torres at second for the immediate future, his long-term likelihood of remaining in the Bronx is next to nil. Remember early in the season when his friendship with Juan Soto seemed like it might be determinative? Haven't heard about that in a while.
Yankees may get starting pitching help from somewhere they'll least expect it
Before mid-June, the New York Yankees boasted the best starting rotation in baseball despite the fact they hadn’t seen a single pitch from the reigning Cy Young award winner Gerrit Cole. Carlos Rodon was having a bounce-back season and Luis Gil quickly became the best pitcher in the game....
Yankees’ Juan Soto gets honest about sharing All-Star honor with Aaron Judge
The New York Yankees are now just 14-15 since the start of June after getting off to the hottest start in baseball. That’s due in large part to the lack of production in the lineup around Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, who were both named 2024 All-Star Game starters on Wednesday. Soto shared his excitement […] The post Yankees’ Juan Soto gets honest about sharing All-Star honor with Aaron Judge appeared first on ClutchPoints.
Veteran reliever elects free agency after DFA by Yankees
Reliever Phil Bickford elected free agency in lieu of an outright assignment by the Yankees, according to a team announcement. New York had designated the right-hander for assignment on Sunday. He evidently cleared waivers. Bickford only spent a little more than a week on the MLB roster. He signed a...

Yankees 2, Reds 3: Lineup wakes up too late in series loss to Cincy
Similar to many American workers the day before a holiday, it seemed like through six innings the Yankees’ offense decided to mentally check out a day early. However, after being blanked early on, a big seventh-inning double by Anthony Volpe put some life into the game. However, two costly double plays—including one by the shortstop in the ninth—killed two potential big innings late, as the Yankees fell to the Reds, 3-2.
Soto joining Judge in AL's starting outfield for All-Star Game
NEW YORK -- Aaron Judge will not be the only starter representing the Yankees at the 2024 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. Teammate Juan Soto will be at Judge’s side in the outfield. Soto was voted in during Phase 2 of the voting process. He received 449,442 votes, or...
Today on Pinstripe Alley - 7/4/24
The Yankees haven’t gotten off to the start they were hoping for in July, dropping the first two games of their series with the Reds to open up this homestand. They’ve lost hold of first place in the division as a product of this, as the Orioles have finally gotten their act together and gained a small lead of their own. There’s still a whole second half of the season to battle it out, but the Yankees would be hard-pressed to flip things back over to the win column sooner rather than later.
Around the Empire: Yankees news - 7/4/24
New York Post | Dan Martin: Not long ago, Luis Gil was being discussed as a potential All-Star, and possibly even as the starter. However, things have taken a very bad turn over his last three starts. Gil’s going to get at least one more start to sort things out, but if he’s still struggling the Yankees will look at options to get creative, potentially even yanking him from the rotation. The bigger problem with that is that there isn’t exactly another option waiting for an opportunity. The team claims Gil is healthy and only experiencing a “normal amount” of fatigue, but Matt Blake seems to think there may be some inconsistencies in his delivery.
