Police are investigating after a man was stabbed on subway train in the Bronx on Wednesday.

Authorities say the stabbing happened just after 3 p.m. at the Jackson Avenue subway station in the Melrose section.

They say a 41-year-old man was riding aboard a southbound No. 2 train when he got into a verbal dispute with a male suspect.

According to the victim, the male suspect told the 41-year-old to move out of his way. A verbal dispute followed and the victim was stabbed multiple times in his right arm.

The victim then got off the train at the Jackson Avenue station and asked a token booth clerk for assistance.

Police say the suspect continued to ride the southbound train.

No arrests have been made at this time.

    The investigation remains ongoing.
