New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge had a slow start to the 2024 MLB regular season, but that feels like a long time ago. Judge is back to punishing pitchers regularly again, as he did on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays on the road to help the Yankees score an 8-1 victory.

Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs against the Blue Jays to improve his June OPS to 1.378. For the second month in a row, Judge has posted an OPS better than 1.300. You will have to go back to 2004 to check out the last time a player had 1.300 OPS or higher in consecutive months before Judge did it.

    Via New York Yankees Stats:

    Aaron Judge OPS by month

    March/April: .754

    May: 1.397

    June: 1.378

He's the first player to have an OPS greater than 1.300 in consecutive months (min. 100 PA) since Barry Bonds in Aug-Sept 2004

Bonds’ 2004 season was the stuff of legend. His 1.4744 OPS that year remains the highest ever in a single season in Major League Baseball. Judge currently has a 1.144 OPS in 2024, so he will have to work a lot harder if he is to even have a sniff of Bonds’ incredible 2004 campaign.

Nevertheless, Judge is having a terrific season once again. So far this year, he is batting .316/.436/.708 with 31 home runs and 82 RBIs.
