A ton of garbage and junk was left behind along Pelham Parkway following Fourth of July celebrations. The walking trail was covered in what's left over from dozens of fireworks. News 12 spoke with a community member who spent her morning cleaning up garbage. "Holding back my tears either from anger or sadness because this parkway is beautiful," said Roxanne Delgado, the founder of Friends of Pelham Parkway. Delgado said this is her seventh year in a row cleaning up the mess following the Fourth of July. She was in the area on the Fourth of July witnessing what was going on. "There was at least 100 people throughout the greenway drinking, barbecuing - which is not allowed," she said. There are 15 designated barbecue spots in the Bronx, according to the Parks Department. Pelham Parkway north is not one of them. Delgado in just an hour collected mounds of garbage, including bottles, food and fireworks. "Shame on you for not respecting nature. Shame on you for not respecting yourself or this community," Delgado said. Delgado and her organization will be continuing the cleanup on Sunday. News 12 reached out to the Parks Department about the mess and a plan to enforce park rules. "
